Organizational Description: The Parsippany-Troy Hills Public Library System serves a diverse suburban community of 50,000 in Morris County, New Jersey. Through a state of the art new Main Library and two neighborhood branches, the Library promotes lifelong interest in reading and learning. We engage the community through technology, including computer labs, audio books, and online resources; deliver innovative reading and literacy programs; offer superior customer service; and forge creative partnerships with community-based organizations. We are delighted to partner with Parsippany LIVE (Lifelong Involvement for Vital Elders) for The Big Read Parsippany.

Program Description: Parsippany-Troy Hills Public Library System, a premiere resource for education, book lovers, and cultural programming, is partnering with Parsippany LIVE to create an innovative, intergenerational, multicultural Big Read experience in Parsippany. The Joy Luck Club, the selected book, has been beloved by readers of all ages and cultures for over twenty years. Together we will bring this cultural gem to new audiences through such creative programming as a Mother/Daughter pajama party, tour of NYC’s Chinatown, an Asian cooking class, and a Dim Sum reception to kick off The Big Read Parsippany.
