The Sonoma County Free Bookmobile is a treasured resource for those individuals and families who live in rural areas of Sonoma County. Every month the brightly painted bookmobile parks in a very visible public location (most stops are so small you can easily spot the Bookmobile--or just follow the people carrying books!) Throughout March the Bookmobile assists in the celebration of Emily Dickinson by distributing "Poem in My Pocket" cards with an Emily Dickinson poem printed on each of the five different cards. The pocket cards are to be read, shared and given away throughout Big Read, Sonoma County month. In addition to the Pocket Cards, the Bookmobile is carrying a supply of Pocket Emily Dickinson books to give away as well as a great read-aloud book for the younger set: "Emily," by Michael Bedard with beautiful illustrations by Barbara Cooney. On March 2nd Bookmobile stops are as follows: 10 to 11 a.m. Freestone; 11:30 - 12:30 Valley Ford; 1 - 2 p.m. Bodega Bay; 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Jenner; 4 - 5 p.m. Monte Rio.
