Dr. Charles "Terry" Zug III, Ph.D. is a professor of English in the College of Arts and Sciences and chairman of the curriculum in folklore. Professor Zug has studied North Carolina's rich heritage of architecture and folk art for twenty-five years. He is best known for his book, Turners and Burners: The Folk Potters of North Carolina, which explores one of the state's most important indigenous art forms.
